Abuse is a nasty term as it encompasses all that is fundamentally wrong with us and in doing so, removes hope from virtually every sub-category it parents. I'm honestly starting to believe that the word abuse is becoming a blanket term adding explanation as to why we're all so miserable.

Many resources I look to state there are three forms of abuse; Psychological, Physical and Neglect but in todays world I find it hard to believe there are only three. You need look no further than your own TV Set and you'll see many forms of abuse from abusing our planet to abuse of our legal system to abuse of human rights to abuse of power.

This is the part of the trip I wanted to touch on a little more because I learned a number of things. I learned that negativity is sometimes the result of a pessimistic point of view and may not be an accurate interpretation of what’s happening. I learned fun is not about the location but more about the people you share it with. Lastly I learned that well I may be a good listener it may not always mean I'm hearing what's being said.

Hard to believe that its 4 years since Lifesupporters first went online. Originally we started off a few folks gathering from various communities where members didn't really care about one other. Our approach from the start was to create a warm and supportive environment for everyone to face issues important to them free from judgment and persecution.

The anonymity provided by the www gave us the perfect vehicle to be truly honest with ourselves and each other. You'll never know how easy it is to embark on the road to recovery until you've had the chance to be truly honest about what's ailing you.
