As a webmaster, I'm on the internet almost half my day, everyday. The internet not only provides me with good ideas for fresh content to publish here but is also a way to test my skills and l3v3l 0f l337n3ss via online gaming. I can also connect with my good friends all over the globe via AOL/MSN Messenger or chat live using headphones and a mic utilizing software such Teamspeak/Ventrillo. The internet has literally made the world a much smaller place and if used wisely, can be a good, limitless resource for many aspects of your daily life. |

The news page has not had much in the way of fresh content added over the past week due to my priorities lying elsewhere. Lifesupporters Forums required a lot of maintenance that I've been putting off until such time as I could purchase VBSEO. I also took the opportunity to upgrade the forums to the latest version of vBulletin and spent whatever time remained (not a whole hell of a lot actually) on re-creating the forum header to more closely match this page. The term life support is usually left for sustaining a patients life when one of their vital organs is no longer functioning correctly. While I can see the connection for terming this form of treatment as "life support" the question that begs to be asked is, what about the years leading up to this? Can the term life support also include all the times in ones life when support was required be it physical, psychological, emotional and/or spiritual? By my way of thinking, if you can't solve the issue on your own, getting outside help or support is helping to better your life in some way, shape or form; thus life support. |

My Child

It's common these days to lay blame in multiple directions whenever your child does something wrong, especially when it's outside the home. Violent behavior is usually blamed on TV, Movies and/or Video Games, dressing inappropriately is usually blamed on the Magazine Rack and Music Videos, while smoking/drug abuse is blamed on the "bad crowd" your child is a part of. It would seem that society has become used to laying blame at outside sources and less people these days take responsibility for anything, including parenting. Have you ever stopped to consider that the problem may not lie in what your child is exposed to in the outside world but what it is they're missing at home? Do you actually take time out of your own busy schedule to show your children you care? |
