My daughter simply astounds me. Recently we had a discussion about her comfort level in the vehicle when I'm in control of the temperature gauges. What sparked this conversation was she adjusted the fan to a lower level, something she's never done in the past. As it turns out, there have been times when my child has sat in the car either shaking or boiling over as a result of temperature control and has neglected to ever say a word until just recently.
Things went on as normal but for some reason the above conversation stuck with me and as such, hit me full force later on as a result of my own ignorance.

| Good Abuse |

Abuse is a nasty term as it encompasses all that is fundamentally wrong with us and in doing so, removes hope from virtually every sub-category it parents. I'm honestly starting to believe that the word abuse is becoming a blanket term adding explanation as to why we're all so miserable.
Many resources I look to state there are three forms of abuse; Psychological, Physical and Neglect but in todays world I find it hard to believe there are only three. You need look no further than your own TV Set and you'll see many forms of abuse from abusing our planet to abuse of our legal system to abuse of human rights to abuse of power.

Hey God if your listening...
A few weeks back I was sitting in a Chinese Restaurant waiting for my take out order to be completed. As I waited, I sat gazing out the window at a building across the street. Most of the signage at the store front was obscured by trees with the exception of part of what I guessed was the phone #. The number on the sign was 666 and it's not the first time I've seen this number, in fact, I see it a lot.
Before embarking on this article I want to clearly state that what follows is honest confusion from a 40+ aged male who is neutral on Heaven or Hell, God and the Devil. While I can say I don't fully believe in either ideal I'd be nuts to discount them fully. I've actually considered going to Church but like many adults I don't like investing my time or energy into time consuming or potentially pointless pursuits.
The past few years has seen me trying to determine whether or not embracing God in my life is beneficial; maybe you can help?

| Listening but not Hearing |

As I mentioned in my blog entry, "Camping Trip", I finally got out camping with my daughter this year. All bad luck aside it really was a great trip and another terrific memory of my daughter I’ll cherish for life. There was really nothing that could dampen our spirits even though we were both chased into a tent by swarming mosquitoes.
This is the part of the trip I wanted to touch on a little more because I learned a number of things. I learned that negativity is sometimes the result of a pessimistic point of view and may not be an accurate interpretation of what’s happening. I learned fun is not about the location but more about the people you share it with. Lastly I learned that well I may be a good listener it may not always mean I'm hearing what's being said.

Quite literally the world is now at our fingertips and it only takes seconds to connect virtually anywhere. As amazing as this may seem, the true miracle of the word wide web occurs when users connect with their hearts.
